Police Woman arrested after crashing into light pole

first_imgAn Vancouver motorist crashed into a light pole and then kept driving about two miles on Interstate 5 before stopping for troopers, according to Washington State Patrol.Jennifer Baker, 41, was driving a 2007 Dodge SUV north on the freeway about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday when she drove into a light pole near Fourth Plain Boulevard, according to Trooper Will Finn.The vehicle kept traveling north and then crashed into a retaining wall near state Highway 500, Finn said.Despite the two incidents, which were reported by passersby, and the efforts of troopers attempting to pull over the SUV, Baker did not stop until the vehicle neared the Northeast 63rd Street overpass, Finn said.At that point, Finn said, one tire was gone and the vehicle was traveling between 30 and 40 mph and losing parts. No one was reportedly injured.“We had to forcibly remove her from the vehicle and took her into custody,” Finn said.Baker was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, felony-level eluding police, obstructing a police officer, resisting arrest and hit and run.last_img read more
