Aulds unveils desserts factory

first_imgScottish firm Aulds has opened its new £7m factory in Renfrewshire. Employing over 170 people, the new 35,000 sq ft factory and office complex at Inchinnan replaces a previous facility destroyed by fire in September 2005.The new factory produces a range of frozen products, including gateaux and other desserts. Main customers are national foodservice companies across the UK and Europe.Since the fire at Inchinnan, Aulds has been operating its frozen foods business from a £2m semi-permanent production facility, established alongside the original factory, eight weeks after the original fire. This is now to be dismantled and removed.MD Alan Marr said: “The factory provides the platform to expand our frozen desserts business.”One of the top three manufacturers of frozen desserts in the UK, Aulds (Food) is a sister company of Thomas Auld & Sons, which operates a factory in Greenock producing fresh bakery products for the company’s 44 shops across West Central Scotland.last_img read more

Hogenmuller to lead the FPAA

first_imgJohn Hogenmuller has been named the executive director of the Florida Prosecuting Attorneys Association.Hogenmuller, who comes to the FPAA from the Office of the State Courts Administrator where he was with legal affairs and education for the past eight and one-half- years, succeeds outgoing Executive Director Steve Urse.“I’m extremely confident in John,” said incoming FPAA President Willie Meggs, the state attorney for the Second Circuit. “He has all the talent, experience, and leadership we need in an executive director.”Hogenmuller is a native of Miami and earned his undergraduate and law degrees from Emory University. In his 35 years as a member of The Florida Bar, Hogenmuller has served as an assistant attorney general, a division director at The Florida Bar, and has been in private practice.“It’s not too often you get to work for an association as remarkable as the FPAA,” Hogenmuller said. “Prosecutors are absolutely committed to safer streets through effective prosecution.”Hogenmuller lives with his wife, Janice, and has two grown children. Milan native, bluegrass legend dies

first_imgGreensburg, In. — Milan native, bluegrass singer, entertainer and founding member of the highly-influential Boys From Indiana has died. Reports indicate he suffered a stroke earlier this year and was in a medical facility in Greensburg.Throughout the run of the Boys From Indiana, Aubrey Holt was among the most recognized and admired vocalists in bluegrass. From the 1970s until the early ’90s, The Boys were staples at bluegrass events in the central US with more than a dozen popular recordings on King, Old Heritage, and Rebel Records. Other prominent members had included Holt’s uncle Harley Gabbard on banjo, Paul “Moon” Mullins on fiddle, Noah Crase on banjo, and Jerry Holt on bass.In 2014 Holt was inducted into the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America Hall of Greats.last_img read more
