Lae City Dwellers have one million reasons to be ecstatic

first_imgThe Morobe Provincial Government has presented them K1 million to prepare themselves for the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC).And the presentation was made to the club by patron and Morobe Governor Kelly Naru at the Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium this morning. The money will now put them on the plane to New Zealand for the OFC games later in the year. Naru said the money was a public money given to the church programs where youth participate and build them to become good citizens. The funds will also assist them to participate in the coming OFC championship. “This assistance will lead them to greater heights. We made the commitment last year and much better this year,” he said.Coach Peter Gunemba commended the Governor with such a sponsorship that will in fact boost the players.He said the club is not only playing soccer but also sharing the work of church ministry for the youths under the theme: “Kick for Christ.””Apart from playing, the club also look at spirituality building the youngsters so that they can become good leaders and members of the communities,” he said.This is the second time the Morobe Provincial Government has presented the money.Last year, at the same venue, it presented K50, 000 for their administration.last_img
