Curt Schilling gets President Donald Trump’s endorsement to run for Congress in Arizona

first_imgCurt Schilling, a great pitcher and patriot, is considering a run for Congress in Arizona. Terrific! @foxandfriends— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 13, 2019″I haven’t said anything publicly, but I’m considering going back to Arizona and running for a congressional seat, one of the blue ones,” Schilling said Sunday on Armed American Radio. “It’s something that my wife and I have talked about, and she’s now becoming more and more pumped at the potential. Obviously, we’re still quite a few discussions away, but yeah, it’s something we’re absolutely considering.”Schilling, who pitched in the 2001 World Series for the Diamondbacks and helped the 2004 Red Sox win their first series in 86 years, has made more waves since he’s stepped away from baseball. He was fired from ESPN in 2016 after he shared a Facebook post that was deemed offensive over North Carolina’s bathroom law. He’s continued to be a polarizing figure in sports with his conservative stances and support of Trump, as well. Schilling, 52, didn’t say which district he was willing to run in but wants to go up against one of Arizona’s five Democrats.”Not ready to do any of that right now. If/When things solidify I will but right now it’s something in the ‘I’m considering it’ stage,” Schilling told The Arizona Republic in an email.
