ExVirgin COO heads into Tiger

first_imgSource = e-Travel Blackboard: N.J Tiger Airways has hired ex-Virgin Blue/Australia chief operating officer Andrew David to head the carrier’s operations down under.Stepping into the chief executive (CEO) position from 17 October this year, Mr David replaces ex-CEO Crawford Rix, who left the company in July after the carrier was grounded by Civil Aviation Safety Authority due to safety concerns.Having previously worked with then Virgin Blue between February 2005 and November 2005, Tiger Airways Holdings Limited acting chief executive Chin Yau Seng explained Mr David will contribute an array of information and knowledge.“We are pleased to welcome Andrew David as the new CEO of Tiger Airways Australia,” Mr Seng said. “He brings a wealth of airline business experience and a proven leadership track record.” Mr David’s resume also includes chief information officer positions at Air New Zealand as well as consulting roles at British Airways and IBM.
