VICTORY OVER KERRY: McFADDEN HAILS RORY AND KARL FOR SEALING WIN

first_imgTV3 Man of the Match Colm McFadden may have bagged 1-05 in today’s cracking Croker clash with Kerry. But he recognised superb work at the end by his teammates helped seal victory.Karl Lacey’s point to take Donegal back into a two-point lead at the end followed great work in midfield by Rory Kavanagh. “With us being six points up we thought we were safe but Kerry showed us all how good a team they are to bring it back to a point,” said Colm“We are just delighted that Rory Kavanagh won the final midfield ball and got it off to Karl Lacey to give us that two-point cushion.”The star forward warned however that Donegal are only back in a semi-final.“It is so good to beat Kerry but we are just back where we were last year,” said McFadden. “Cork are next and it will be a big big test – Cork are the form team at the minute and it is something to look forward to,” he said. The St Michael’s player admitted his goal was jammy.“The goal now was a fortunate one. I just wanted to put into the back post to Murphy and just fortunately he went to compete for it and it went straight into the net.“It doesn’t matter whose goal it is, as long as it went it. It was a great lift that early in the game,” said McFadden. He added: “It’s fantastic to be back where we were last year again. There’s going to be big work done in the next three weeks to try and go one step further and get to an All-Ireland final.” VICTORY OVER KERRY: McFADDEN HAILS RORY AND KARL FOR SEALING WIN was last modified: August 6th, 2012 by BrendaShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)Tags:VICTORY OVER KERRY: McFADDEN HAILS RORY AND KARL FOR SEALING WINlast_img read more
