“We cannot act on what we see in the media. If they formally inform us then we will be able to announce our stand on them,” he said. Dissanayake said that the SLFP has had talks with the political parties in the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) and they have agreed to contest the next election together. He also said that talks are being held with some political parties which are not part of the UPFA and they hope to reach an agreement soon.
